The water park was built in 1951 and covers an area of 1,255,500 square meters, including 497,900 square meters of land area, 757,600 square meters of water area and 350,000 square meters of green area. It owns nearly 200 varieties of flowers and trees. It is the largest comprehensive park in Tianjin.In 2009, after landscape upgrading and transformation, the water park was famous as "North-West Lake". It was opened to the public free of charge on July 6, 2009. Water Park was originally called Qinglong lake. It is named water park because it is composed of three great lakes in the East, West and South and 11 islands.
